I searched all over this site and can't find any place???

Even tried E-bay but can't find many options. I want to get a weighted shift knob if possible and keep the throw short. I really don't like the OEM shift knob in the car.

tbanks in advance,

Don't go to Dali Racing, their website will say they have the shift boot, but they actually don't. I've been trying to get a refund for the item sometime now... But you know mark and refunds. SOS is your best bet for the shift boot.

I got my OEM NSX-R shift boot and shft knob from RJP. Great service.

thanks guys for the tip - Is RJP his screenname on this site?

I'm looking just to get thet knob and shift boot (trying to avoid replacing that shift rod as well with the longer threads) Is that necessary?

Will the NSR-R shift knob give me a shorter throw? Also is that engraving only available in yellow?

thanks

Yes, RJP is his Prime screen name

I replaced the gear stalk with SOS short gear stalk, I think without the shorter stalk the NSX-R shift boot fabric will look stretched.

The gears feels like it has a shorter throw.
It is an OEM shift knob and I only see them with yellow engraving.

I use the stock gear stock and there is no issue with the shift boot fabric. If you want a really short throw, go with the short throw by Titanium Dave. It really shortens it up and if you use a weighted ball, will probably work great. I had the short throw but just took it off since I am using the SOS shift knob which makes the throw shorter still.

Thanks guys,

I just PM'd RJP on the shift knob and will check out the SOS site for the shift boot.

These mods are not permanent right and totally reverseable? I don't want to do any damage to the car.

How do you remove the stock shift knob / boot? I will tackle this project once I get back from Vegas since I really dislike the long throws right now compared to my s2000 with the Voodoo shift knob.

PM Evo "Erick"

I'm pretty sure he still has some carbon fiber weighted shift knobs and nsx-r boots also. I know that's where I bought mine from awhile ago.

Yes, totally reversible.

Also, I am very happy with the standard height stalk and the NSX-R knob. Much of the normal height is actually due to the OEM knob. The NSX-R knob and Dave's Short Shift Block are more than enough, IMO. It will transofrm the shifting as it did for me. Very happy with that combo.

And finally just do a search for removal of the boot/knob. There are plenty of threads on that topic...

We have the boots in stock if you need them.

You should consider the Type-S shift knob. We make a replica that is a 1/3 of the price and feels great in your hand. Of all the ones I have tried, this one works the best by far. This also works well with the boot. You can see the Honda NSX-R prototype that had this exact setup:

When you use this with the gear stalk, it low shortening the throw. The weight of the knob really makes gear selection a pleasure.

Hey Chris, I just received the shift boot, thanks.

Chris,

With the shape of my hand, I prefer round shift knobs that have a HEAVY weight to it. My e46 m3 uses a UUC 1.3 lb stainless steel knob and I love it!

Can you get me that matte silver NSX-R knob with the yellow threads? Is that weighted and will it just screw onto my existing shift lever or do I need to buy a different short shifter with longer threads?

thanks for all the info,
rick
