I bet few of you have been watching this show. It's a fictional dramatic series about a professional football team, and 99 percent of the action takes place off the field. It's about the highly-paid celebrity players, and those who interact with them - and about why the average lifespan if a professional football player is 18 years shorter than others their age. It's also the first dramatic series broadcast on ESPN. It's not just for sports fans; the acting is superlative, and the characters well drawn. Better than anything on the over-the-air networks, for sure.
For those who haven't yet seen this program, this coming week they have scheduled a "Playmakers Marathon" showing all eight episodes so far. It will be broadcast this coming Tuesday, October 21, with the first three episodes shown 8-11 pm Eastern Time on ESPN, and the next five episodes shown 11 pm - 4 am Eastern Time on ESPN2. Set your VCR or Tivo and enjoy.
