how much does a new engine cost?

I'm wondering how much it cost to replace an engine on a 91 NSX. Also is it something that you could do yourself?

Are you sure you really need a new engine and not a rebuild? Is the block damaged? A short block rebuild by a really good shop like JG or Comptec should run $3k - $5K depending on how crazy you get with the upgrades. And, by the way, you can substantially improve the motor over stock during the rebuild. Upgrading to forged pistons should be the least you do.

I guess a rebuild would be fine. Do those places you were talking about have websites?

Also any idea how much it would cost to have someone take the engine out and put it back in?

I can try to get u used Engine from Japan. The price is going to be $5000 including shipping from Japan to me. I live in San Francisco. Let me know if u are interested, so I can start looking. U have to be sure before ordering, as this can't be return and I do require deposit as soon as I locate one.

but mine has over 115k on it.
I basically was wondering if I should
sell it before the engine goes, or if I
should just replace the engine when it needs it, and keep the car.
