What is the Traveling NSX Enthusiast List?

[DG] For all newcomers out there in e-mail land, this is a list I maintain of NSX owners/enthusuasts who've indicated their willingness to "host" (i.e., meet for a meal, a quick drive, etc.) another NSX enthusiast if they happen to be in town while traveling.

The list is up to nearly 60 people from coast-to-coast, and all points in-between. We've also got an Australian member...

We've chosen to NOT post this list to the mail list or on the NSX FAQ, out of consideration of those who've offered their hosting services.

How To Sign Up

If you're interested in visiting and hosting other NSX owners in your/their travels, let me know via PRIVATE e-mail, and I'll add you to an updated list that I'll send to all members. Please include the following information:

  1. Name
  2. E-mail address
  3. Street address (optional)
  4. City, State, ZIP
  5. Phone number(s) (optional)
  6. Year/colors of your car

I'll continue to update the list from time to time. And, personally, I look forward to meeting more list members (I travel all over the country...) in the not-too-distant future!

If you are interested in joining this list of "Traveling NSX Enthusiasts," e-mail him with your name, city/state and information about your car. Don's e-mail address is  SkiRX@rcn.com.

Dick Hackman, a member of the "big" NSX mail list, best described the enjoyment possible from the Traveling Enthusiasts List:

Perhaps we all take for granted what a fine group of people we interact with on an electronic basis nearly every day. Don Gallo took the initiative several months ago to construct the "Traveling Enthusiasts". This is a list of NSX owners and hopefuls, who volunteered to host an "out of town visitor". Don, MANY THANKS! My travels are more enjoyable now and since I seem to do this every week, life is better. (Hey, any of you ever in Cincinnati, drop me a line...)

Since I make ~50 trips per year, I was really jazzed about the concept. Tonight, dinner with Harry Somerfield, while in San Francisco. About three weeks ago, dinner with Chris Mundy, during a visit to Indy. Two months ago, Jacqueline Berthiaume, called ME to meet while she was in Cincinnati during a business trip. She saw my NSX and I gave her a few "trips around the block" in the NSX as we agreed rental cars really suck. (I rent about 50 per year.) In August I was able to hook up with Gary Berger. Gary has the most NSX memorabilia of any person I know on the face of the earth.

Three points to this message:

  1. Thanks to Don Gallo for a great idea. Hope to shake your hand someday.
  2. Encourage all of you to meet your sisters and brothers during travels. Join Don's "Traveling Enthusiasts" list. The personal interaction adds real faces to our "electronic" faces. FUN!
  3. Truly impressed with the wonderful people on the List. Find time to "break bread" with the group. You will enjoy the communications more.
